Today we were given the task evaulate our music video and our packaging, we were given four questions to answer. As a group we decided to do this indivually so it is not time consuming, Also it makes it easier option for all of us to work on our own.
In lesson i started planning on what i wanted to use and how to contruct my evaluation work which would guide me when doing the actual evaluation.

Inserts and Magazine Advert
As we splited the workload between each member, here is are the work that they produced.
Insert 1 and 2
Original Photo
For the inserts, we wanted the pictures to have an iconic meaning which would go well with the music video. At First we chose this picture for the first insert, as this is the moment where the artists has found out about the break up and sits under the tunnel. As Yasmeen is a Photography student, she would know what position and body language would be best for our insert.
She experimented with Photoshop by changing the tones of the background and making the artist standout more.
The is the working progress of her work. She cropped the image to make it fit to the template of our sizing. on Photoshop we used the measurements of 139.5mm x 125.5mm.
Through experimentation, she decided that this tone would look better than the previous one.
However. after some complications of the blurry photo from above, Yasmeen found another picture and consulted the group members wherethere we would prefer this photography better, as it would look better and more significant to the music video.
She used this image instead --->
As she already knew that she wanted to have grey tones for the image, it was easy for her to apply and was not time consuming with exploring the tones.
So this is the Final Product for the First Insert.
Insert 2
For the second insert we decided to use the photo booth pictures, which followed the planning of our CD packaging as we got positive feedback from using that idea. Also it is is iconic as it relates back to the music video.
Eventhough the second insert goes with one of our colour scheme of green. Yasmeen decided to change the tone of the Second insert so it will go well better with the CD and also correspond with the first insert.
Final Second Insert
CD
As a Group, we decided to follow the simplicity of our work, therefore we wanted our CD to look simple and also follow some of our colour scheme of black and white which is included. We wanted to keep the CD simple and Basic which also corresponds with the Front cover.
Magazine Advert
Sayed had the task of doing the Magazine Advert. After consulting with each other, we decided that this picture would be used for the magazine advert.
We chose this picture to show that our artist has moved on with his life as at the end of our music video, we see him walking away and leaving the burnt photograph on the floor. We also needed our artist to look away from the camera as it creates a sense of pride which corresponds well with the Front Cover to show that there is consistency within our work.
Original Photo
Here is a screenshot of the work done. You can see that we wanted to use colours that would be eye catching for the readers, as the use of positive quotes are commonly seen in magazine advert which would convince consumers.
Sayed decided to change the colour and fonts of the work which looks better. Also by changing some tones of the photo, it would make our artist stand out more.
However,as a group we thought that there was too much information and people would not be bothered to read that amount of information, especially if they wanted a quick read which is short and simple, that would catch their attention more.
So through another group Discussion, Sayed Changed the layout of the work and instead of adding quotes, he added rating stars instead which is more teaching and fast to look at for the consumers that would immediately grab their attention and know the quality of the CD as they are ratings from music magazines
However, as the magazine advert did not look complete yet, we added margins on to make the advert look better .
By adding logos and music companies we followed the conventions of what would be seen in a typical music advert.
Magazine Advert
Overall , throughout our project we made sure that there was consistency within the project such as following the colour scheme and making sure that the artist is not looking at the camera. Even though we encountered some difficulties such as changing the photographs and experimenting with the Photoshop at the ended we finally finished with the CD Packaging and magazine advert which is a good thing.

Process of Work
Here is my process of work, as it was my task to do the front and back cover.
Front album Cover
To start the front cover, as a group we have decided to chose this photo as it goes well with what we wanted to do on the mock- up of our CD package. As our artists is looking away from the camera giving no eye contact and has his legs up against the wall, to show the lean back side of the artist. Also, we have decided to choose to take a photograph of him leaning on the wall which corresponds with the music video as in the beginning he is sitting against the wall as he is distressed about his break-up, which is what his facial expressing is showing to the audience which is why we would want him to look away from the camera.
To start off, i followed my case study from Amerie as she keeps her album cover simple by just having her name and the title of the album next to it. Also i have decided to use a medium shot of the artist which you can also see that he is leaning against the wall, But have decided to change it as it does not look like an album cover.
However, after reassessing my work i have decided to change the title of the album and lower it abit and change the font of the wrinting , to follow the conventions of how an album cover should look like also with the guide of our mock-up of the CD abum as our artist is looking awya from the camera. i have also decided to move the picture higher as the composition did not feel accurate enough. Also, it looks as if our artists is looking at the title of the album.
Back Cover
Here is the first idea of what i wanted the back cover to look like, as the wall would make it consistent through out the cd package. I also added logos and barcodes which would be seen typically on a backcover of an album. however there were things thats i wanted to try out.
This is the second idea that i had, as in our mock up we wanted to keep the background plain as it follows the simplicity of the album as a whole, but the back cover looked too plain and would look odd with the front cover therefore i decided to changed it again. I also added the title 'Track List' bold to make it look like it stands out more
Lastly, this is the final product of what i decided to do. I decided to keep the wall feint as i makes it consistent to the front cover which is seen in my case study for Amerie, as her album is consistent throughout. also as the track list is in the middle of the album. which the discussion of my group, we wanted to keep the font the same which should we would usually see in an album. therefore we have followed the conventions of what an album package should look like.

Chosen Pictures
Here are the Pictures we hav chosen from the photoshoot we took.
Front Cover
Magazine Advert
We decided to use this picture for our Magazine Advert because it shows the deep emotions of the artists as he is looking away from the camera avoiding eye contact which goes well with Sayed Case Study ' Mos Def' magazine advert. As the photo uses shadow and the use of no eye contact which entices the audience. Also we decided to use lighting of one side of the artists face to show that he has moved on from the past which signifies ’bight side of the life’ and created a shadow on the other half of his face to show the dark side of his past. Which is reflective to his album and the music video of ‘Take it All Away’.
Front Cover
We chose this picture form our Front Cover as it also shows
his emotions as he is looking away from the camera. Also we want to put the
title and the writings beside him so it looks like he is looking at the
writing. This photo corresponds well with what we wanted to do in our
presentation that we pitched to the class. He has a good body composition and
facial expression which goes well with the concept of the music video.
