Front album Cover
To start the front cover, as a group we have decided to chose this photo as it goes well with what we wanted to do on the mock- up of our CD package. As our artists is looking away from the camera giving no eye contact and has his legs up against the wall, to show the lean back side of the artist. Also, we have decided to choose to take a photograph of him leaning on the wall which corresponds with the music video as in the beginning he is sitting against the wall as he is distressed about his break-up, which is what his facial expressing is showing to the audience which is why we would want him to look away from the camera.
To start off, i followed my case study from Amerie as she keeps her album cover simple by just having her name and the title of the album next to it. Also i have decided to use a medium shot of the artist which you can also see that he is leaning against the wall, But have decided to change it as it does not look like an album cover.
However, after reassessing my work i have decided to change the title of the album and lower it abit and change the font of the wrinting , to follow the conventions of how an album cover should look like also with the guide of our mock-up of the CD abum as our artist is looking awya from the camera. i have also decided to move the picture higher as the composition did not feel accurate enough. Also, it looks as if our artists is looking at the title of the album.
Back Cover
Here is the first idea of what i wanted the back cover to look like, as the wall would make it consistent through out the cd package. I also added logos and barcodes which would be seen typically on a backcover of an album. however there were things thats i wanted to try out.
This is the second idea that i had, as in our mock up we wanted to keep the background plain as it follows the simplicity of the album as a whole, but the back cover looked too plain and would look odd with the front cover therefore i decided to changed it again. I also added the title 'Track List' bold to make it look like it stands out more
Lastly, this is the final product of what i decided to do. I decided to keep the wall feint as i makes it consistent to the front cover which is seen in my case study for Amerie, as her album is consistent throughout. also as the track list is in the middle of the album. which the discussion of my group, we wanted to keep the font the same which should we would usually see in an album. therefore we have followed the conventions of what an album package should look like.
